Pictures from the Savannah College of Art and Design

I was in town for UX Hong Kong 2015 and, part of the itinerary was an intimate pre-conference event over at the beautiful Savannah College of Art and Design campus in Shek Kip Mei.

Got to hear Matt Nish-Lapidus (@emenel), Davide Casali (@folletto), Dan Szuc (@dszuc), Jen Fabrizi (@jenniferfabrizi) and Jared Spool (@jmspool) talk to SCAD students about their experiences designing as a profession and what students should prepare for and expect from a career in design.

We capped the night with cocktails and a tour of the SCAD HK campus. The SCAD HK campus was formerly the North Kowloon Magistracy. They retained much of the original interiors of the Magistracy which made for some very interesting fusion of modern art, functional spaces and vestiges of the magistry's old features. Their main auditorium is a courtroom and some of the administrative offices were built into the old jail cells which is pretty fucking boss.
